3 boat Fall Cruise - We will spent the night on the boats at Pine Island Marina. Left Saturday morning for a day of sailing. Saturday Night the 18th we be stayed at the Island Boatyard and Marina (631 749-3333) on Shelter Island. This location is about 3-4 miles northwest of Sag Harbor in a very protected cove. The owner – James – has agreed to let us dock in slips at his facility at a very low cost. The Island Boatyard appears to be a nice facility including a Swimming Pool, Shuttle Service into town, Volleyball court, game room, laundry, restaurant, etc. Reference this link:
http://www.walshmessenger.com/islandboatyard/ We arrived around dinner time after sailing30 miles. Some of us went into town for some Liberty other stayed back at the boat docks. Then we will be staying the docked at Island Boatyard. Sunday morning around 0800 we got underway to return homeward bound. We had great 3 boat sail out of Shelter Island and then the wind died and motoring was a necessity. All returned and boats secured.
